Director of Music

The Church of St. John the Evangelist is seeking a dynamic musician with experience in accompanying and leading choral/congregational singing to join our ministry team as our next Director of Music.  This is a part-time (10 hours per week) position with a starting salary of $22,000.  The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a music-related field of study, a strong and varied musical background, interpersonal skills, and a devotion to the liturgy of our Church.  Preference may be given to those applicants who are proficient organists, though this is not a requirement.  For those musicians from other faith traditions, Episcopal liturgical training is available.  The Director of Music will be responsible for selecting and leading seasonally appropriate music for all worship services, and will have the right of first refusal for all weddings and funerals (at additional compensation).  To apply, please send a cover letter and current resume to Fr.
